I'm Cameron, and I mount TVs for a living in Lehi. Not as a side gig, not as an add-on to some bigger remodel job. When you call, you get me on the ladder, and the TV goes up level the first time.
Most of the calls I get start the same way: someone bought a 65 or 75-inch, hung it themselves off a $30 bracket, and now there's a nest of cables hanging down the wall and the picture is tilted a half-inch to the left. I fix that. Dead-level mount, wires run inside the wall, nothing showing but the screen.
I bring my own stud finder, laser level, and the low-voltage cable to run the HDMI and power behind the drywall. You don't have to buy anything or figure out which mount fits your set.
Why it matters in Lehi
Lehi is basically one giant construction zone right now, and that's good and bad for hanging a TV. A lot of the newer builds out in Traverse Mountain, Holbrook Farms, and the developments off Pioneer Crossing went up fast, and the walls tell the story. Studs aren't always where you'd expect, some interior walls are only 2x4 with a single stud behind where you want the TV centered, and the builder often ran the media wall with no conduit and no boxes. That means running new cable in-wall, not just clipping onto what's there.
The other Lehi reality is the fireplace. Half the great rooms in these Silicon Slopes-adjacent homes have a gas fireplace with a bump-out or shiplap above it, and everybody wants the TV up there. That's a real mount, not a guess, because you've got heat, an angled surface, and no easy stud line. I do those constantly, and I know how high to set it so you're not craning your neck from the couch.
If your place is in one of the newer Traverse Mountain or Holbrook Farms builds, tell me when it was finished and roughly where the TV's going, because those media walls almost never have a stud dead-center where you want the mount.

Can you hide the wires inside the wall on a new Lehi build, or is it drywall-only?
On the standard drywall-over-2x4 interior walls in almost every Lehi build, yes. I cut two small openings, drop the cable inside, and add a recessed outlet up top, usually about a 2-hour job. The one exception is an exterior or party wall with insulation or fire blocking; on those I'll show you the cleanest surface-raceway option before I cut anything.
How high should the TV go over my gas fireplace?
For most Lehi great rooms with a fireplace mount, I set the bottom of the screen around 42 to 48 inches off the floor, and I use a tilting mount so the picture angles down toward the couch. I'll actually have you sit down first and we sight it in, because ceiling height and mantel depth change the answer in every house out here.
Do I need HOA approval before you mount a TV in Traverse Mountain?
For anything inside your home, no. HOAs out here in Traverse Mountain and Holbrook Farms cover exteriors, not your living room wall. The only time it comes up is an outdoor patio TV facing a common area, and for those I keep the mount low-profile and the cabling tucked so it stays under the radar. Interior mounts I can usually schedule within a few days.
